Suzuki had lots to write home about this summer.  As described in an interesting article by Financial News.com, the Kizashi made headlines with both a record-breaking 203 mile run on Bonneville Salt Flats and the Tokyo to LA: The Hard Way overland tour.  Both these cars received special aftermarket treatments and will be showcased at the 2010 LA Auto Show.

The SX4 Sportback made it’s television debut on the BBC’s Top Gear UK.  Now with the release of a US Version of the show, Top Gear US on the History Channel, the 2011 SX4 turns out in a leading role announced suzukiauto.com.

Hosted by Rutledge Wood and Adam Ferrera, the premiere features special guests testing the 2011 SX4 Sportback on a closed course. Guests include race driver, The Stig, rock artist Kid Rock, actors Tim Allen, Michele Rodriguez and Dominic Monaghan and skateboarder Tony Hawk. Upon emerging from the sporty hatchback, all the stars had rave reviews for the handling and performance of the car.

Jennifer Newman of motherproof.com recently performed a car seat check on her 2010 Suzuki SX4 Sportback.

The 2010 Suzuki SX4 Sportback is a “seriously cute car.  That’s not to say it’s girly looking, but this small four-door hatchback can be described as nothing else but cute.”

With reservations that fitting a family into this car might be a tight squeeze, she was able to fit everyone into a weekend’s worth of driving with two child safety seats.

Using a rear-facing infant-safety seat, a convertible child-safety seat and a high back booster seat all made by Graco, Newman made sure to check for the comfort of a 6 foot driver and a 5 foot 8 inch passenger.  The booster seat was installed behind the driver’s seat and the convertible seats were behind the passenger.

Newman’s family consists of a 3 and a 7 year old; but she was still surprised by the roomy comfort and the ease of use of all the car seats in the “cute” Suzuki SX4 Sportback.  Just wait till she’s able to test a 2011 model!

KING 5 TV in Seattle recently profiled the 2010 Suzuki SX4 Sportback in their Driving Northwest series. They find the car delightful to drive and very affordable.

One of the great features about the SX4 is its fun driving experience. Drivers will notice its smooth suspension and it goes from 0-60 mph in less than 9 seconds. Tom Voelk gave the car a thumbs up for fuel economy, noting that it got 29.4 mpg on recent trip from Seattle to Portland.

The Suzuki SX4 is truly affordable, with standard features like the Garmin navigation and key-less ignition are added bonuses. Overall, while the SX4 may have a low price tag, it does not lose any of its luster.
