Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado is the world’s oldest racing event. Forget about a traditional racetrack, this one includes extreme elevation gains, thin air, unpaved roads, hairpin turns and sheer cliff faces.

This year, Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima, the driver with the best overall standings, will attempt to break his record with an updated version of his Suzuki SX4.

The December 12 episode of American “Top Gear” features the Suzuki SX4 in the recurring segment Big Star, Small Car shared an interesting article by Popular Hot Rodding.

In this episode, Detroit native Kid Rock drove this fuel efficient Suzuki on the high-speed test-track at El Toro in Irvine, CA.  Kid Rock is a big fan of hot rod cars and put the SX4 Sportback through it’s paces in the pouring rain. Rock’s time was 1.43.9 seconds, better than all previous competitors.
